Hello All.....
We are approaching Week 3 of our 8 week challenge!!! You ladies are doing such an awesome job. Some of you have shared with me personal gains of losing inches, weight loss, feeling better, less bloated...etc!! Now, I want you to post some of your gains here on the blog so you may encourage one another. No matter how small of a gain it may seem to you, it took discipline on your part to make it happen, so you should be proud accomplishments!! I want to hear from you????

I have a CRAZY schedule! Today after flying 4 round trips this week- I could have easily went home and watched t.v. I can't lose weight watching t.v. not only that I also slid across the highway doing a 180 in lanes of traffic with the crazy weather and my tension was high, I watched 3 other cars slide and an officer taken of in an ambulance today! This was stressful and scary! I could have made the excuse- a day like today! I didn't! Here it is 8 more pounds 23 days to vacation! Trust me, a mom of 2 kids and I wasn't home all week- I still made time! I will make my goal! I will be fab in Mexico!
ReplyDeleteI love your determination Cari, as busy as you are, traveling with work and all, you still make time!!!
ReplyDeleteAs you can see ladies, we all are busy with demanding schedules, its just a matter of being committed to seeing your goal come to pass.
Be encouraged group....
Kimmie
Thanks for sharing your weekly story Cari. It totally motivated me! I have traveled 4 times in the past two weeks and I also have a 10 hour road trip ahead of me today. I am determined to do my healthy grocery shopping when I arrive home tonight (regardless of the time) and to stick to the meal plan and incorporate excercise THIS WEEK.. Thanks for the warm welcome Kimmie. Have a blessed and healthy week ladies.. *(Niki)
ReplyDeleteThis is great....lets motivate one another!! Ladies if you all know of anyone who needs encouragement who is not doing the Shakedown Challenge, invite them to this blog. Everybody could use some encouragement every now and then!!
ReplyDeleteYou're welcome Niki :-)) Glad you are on board!!

Hello All! I am excited to say that after two weeks of Kimmie's program, I am down 6 pounds this morning! Clothes are feeling a little looser, confidence is building! This week, I really need to work on finding more time in my schedule for additional exercise b/c right now I am still just doing 3 days a week of exercise (Taekwondo). But, I know the time is there, it's just figuring out how to schedule it with everything else! Stay positive and think healthy everyone! Katura
ReplyDeleteYay for Katura!!! Rock on girlfriend!! Thanks for the encouragement.

thanks- so I made a few bad choices this weekend (shouldn't have eaten that buttered popcorn) :-( I just spent an hour telling my mom it takes practice to get in a routine. It isn't easy and you have to push through your not wanting times- Isn't it funny after you make a good choice how you feel better than when you make a bad choice. It's embarrasing! I will own that buttered popcorn- I made a commitment that today I will get 1 hour cardio in- I hope this is enough to make up! 20 days till vacation! I am still going to make my goal!
ReplyDeleteSo yesterday was crazy! A friend and I had to sort through donations for a missions garage sale, Nathan had make-up piano lessons, he had a science fair project due today, and he had a boyscout meeting last night, and I had a cake class last night. I didn't have time to cook dinner, I barely had time to make lunch. But, I managed lunch (late, but managed), and I ate leftover turkey with a big spinach and romaine salad for supper and made do. And I did all of this without diet coke - which is my major go-to in stress! It wasn't so bad - I really did miss my diet coke, but I know it was a good decision and it's about breaking that habit for my health. I am still struggling with putting additional exercise back into my hectic life. I used to go at 6am, but I am not finding the push to get up and go do it at that time. Any suggestions on juggling three busy kids, a house, and exercise???
ReplyDeleteAnother example of making the best decision with out BUSY schedules! My suggestion is get up at 6am, like you used to, and get it done. If you did it before, you can do it then, pretend I will be there to train you at 6am!! Just kidding :-))
ReplyDeleteSeriously, if you want more results, you have to go further out of your comfort zone....I'm just saying???
Does anyone else have any suggestions???
Correction, "making the best decision with our busy schedules"
ReplyDeleteCorrection, "if you did it before, you can do it now"
Had a few typos and I wanted to make myself clear.
It's hard to pretend you are there at 6 am - there are few trainers out there that can live up to that! :-) But, I do agree with you! I was going to go work out at a 9:30am class today, but forgot that I had committed to help someone with a project this morning. So many commitments is why I used 6am for workouts - the only other thing I had to do at that time was sleep! :-)
ReplyDeleteHappy Wednesday 'Shakedown Ladies' I'm hoping this email finds everyone having a good week. I've had a few slip-ups but for the most part, I'm doing ok for a beginner. Eventhough this is my first week, I have already began to feel good about myself and when I look in the mirror and see the leftover baby I know that if I get and stay focused I will be well on my way to a better, slimmer me..
ReplyDeleteThat is TRUE...
ReplyDeleteto Katura-
ReplyDeleteHere you go-
2 kids, travel every week with 1-3 flights a week, soccer, piano, horseback riding lessons, dance, and a job I work about 70-80 hours a week. Yes- this is my week as a Mom and a dedicated employee!
I decided a few months ago it really is about choices! It's amazing when you want something bad enough you make the time! I am not saying it is easy! It is dedication! At the end of the day it is important to me- I want to be fit and happy for me, my husband and I are celebrating 14 years next month, and mostly because when I make the time- It's amazing how much better I feel! Kimmie will tell you I carry a lot of stress into the Gym- but in some sort of way it becomes my release and balance for myself! I also am at a stage where I am enjoying it - seeing results! When you put the time in (honestly) you want more! You just do! My advice is you are truly making a choice- you own the decision!
I second that....well said Cari!
ReplyDeleteThanks Cari! I agree with all you said - and funny enough my husband and I will celebrate 14 years next month too (6/16/96)! When I worked out at 6 am with Kimmie and on my own, I loved it because it was my time and I did it for me. As you know, mom's don't often have time that is solely their own and about them. Thanks for the words of encouragement! I worked out this morning and am feeling the empowerment!
